Samford Worship Collective
Samford students united to develop their gifts, follow their calling, and serve others through the ministry of worship.
The Samford Worship Collective is university’s flagship worship team, committed to leading others to encounter the Gospel of Christ through effective worship leadership. We aim to encourage others to worship God and proclaim the Gospel in spirit and truth.
At our core, we value more than performance. We seek to grow together—musically, spiritually and relationally. Through weekly gatherings that include prayer and discussion around worship, we desire to become a team that is continually being shaped by Christ and by one another.
Join the Team
Samford students: Are you passionate about worship and eager to grow as a musician and leader? Audition to join the team.
Auditions are vocal and/or instrumental. Students should prepare two worship‑appropriate songs that demonstrate musical ability, range and expression.
The Samford Worship Collective is holding auditions April 6th – June 30th.
“The Worship Collective has been the most refreshing part of my freshman year here at Samford. Getting to spend time with people who share the same passion I have for worship has been a significant highlight of my year. I’ve enjoyed the unique opportunities we’ve had to lead at different churches and events, and I’ve grown just from getting to be in environments that I usually wouldn’t find myself in.” —Jeremy Sigmon
“The Worship Collective has been a defining community in my time at Samford. Through serving as a team captain and vice president, I have grown as both a leader and a follower of Christ within a culture marked by faithfulness, preparation, and genuine care for others. Walking alongside friends who feel like family and gifted musicians has pushed me to pursue excellence on and off the platform. The Worship Collective is a place where people are formed, called, and sent out to lead with excellence wherever God places them.” —Avery Kennedy
