Professor Patane joined Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2015. He earned his doctorate in Number Theory from the Â鶹ÊÓƵ of Florida. His field of research focuses on binary and ternary quadratic forms. He has also published work on theta series associated with eta-quotients of weight 1.

However his true passion is teaching Mathematics at the undergraduate level. He finds it enjoyable to watch students "open up the door to Mathematics and find a brilliant landscape they never knew existed."

Besides Math, he enjoys coffee, movies, reading, and relaxing with his wife Sue-Yen and his kids Frankie and Zoey.
