Courtney Payne earned a degree in exercise science from the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ of Alabama with a minor in nutrition. During and after her studies, Payne worked with Collegiate Strength and Conditioning at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ of Alabama and Louisiana State Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. She was a personal trainer and fitness manager for six years at various gyms and fitness facilities. Later in her career, Payne became an assistant women's basketball coach at Jacksonville State Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ while earning a master's in sports management. For the next 11 years, she worked in secondary education as a science teacher, multi-sport coach, and strength and conditioning coach. Payne holds a doctorate in kinesiology from Concordia Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, St. Paul, and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She is currently an assistant professor in the kinesiology program at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
