Students may receive both degrees in the same semester.
The MS in Nutrition must be completed within five academic years from initial admission to the master’s program.
Students maintain two separate GPAs—one for nutrition and one for pharmacy.
- Pharmacy ranking is based solely on the pharmacy GPA.
- Students must maintain a 0 GPA in the MS in Nutrition to remain in good standing.
Students may enroll in a maximum of 21 credits per semester, with the option to petition for an overload.
Students may choose to drop the joint degree to graduate earlier with the PharmD. Shared credits can be reapplied to the MS in Nutrition if:
- The joint degree began before PharmD graduation,
- The student was in good standing, and
- Readmission occurs within one semester of PharmD graduation.
To be considered for the PharmD/Master of Science in Nutrition joint degree, students must first be admitted to both the McWhorter School of Pharmacy and the School of Public Health. Applicants must also be in good standing in the PharmD program.
